Frequently Asked Questions
What is Occupational Therapy?
Occupational therapy (OT) helps individuals engage in meaningful activities, or “occupations,” through direct skills training, education, environmental modifications, and the use of adaptive tools or strategies. Occupational therapy works to address skills like fine and gross motor development, regulation, and executive functioning.
OT also includes supporting the child’s sensory processing needs, identifying accommodations, prescribing assistive technology, and providing strength-based interventions that focus on building on the child’s existing abilities. Occupational therapy involves collaborating with parents, educators, and other professionals to create a holistic plan that meets each child’s unique needs.
Who can we help?
We offer occupational therapy services in Texas to both neurodivergent children and adults, and parents and caregivers.
Neurodivergence may refer to individuals who relates to the following diagnoses/experiences:
❖ Autism
❖ Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
❖ Sensory Processing Differences
❖ Fine and Gross Motor Delays
❖ Executive Function Challenges
❖ Developmental Coordination Disorders
What areas do you provide in-person services?
We are primarily a virtual service provider, offering convenient and flexible support online. However, our providers may be able to work with you in person at home or school if you are located in the following areas:
❖ Spring Branch
❖ Memorial City
❖ Energy Corridor
❖ The Villages (Bunker Hill, Hedwig, Piney Point)
❖ The Heights
❖ Rice Military
❖ Lazy Brook/Timbergrove
❖ Meyerland
❖ Missouri City (e.g. Sienna)
❖ Sugar Land
Please note that in-person availability depends on provider scheduling and proximity. We encourage you to reach out to confirm whether we can accommodate your location for in-person services.
Who is eligible for virtual services?
Our virtual occupational therapy services are available to anyone based in Texas with internet access and a suitable device (computer, tablet, or smartphone). Virtual therapy is ideal for individuals who cannot attend in-person sessions due to location, medical, or scheduling barriers.
How do virtual sessions work?
Sessions are conducted via secure, HIPAA-compliant video platforms. Therapists work in real-time with clients and/or caregivers, guiding them through activities, exercises, and providing feedback just as they would in-person. We also offer consultations that focus on parent education and collaboration where you can learn about strategies on how to help your child and manage the challenges that come with neurodivergence.
Are you in-network with any commercial insurance?
WeDiverge currently operates on a cash-based payment model. We are also in-network with BlueCross BlueShield of Texas and are in the process of credentialing with other health insurance providers. For more information on pricing, please send us an inquiry through email or give us a call. We’re committed to making our services as accessible as possible and are open to discuss options.
Do you work with high-functioning autism or ADHD?
Yes. We often work with individuals who may be described as “high functioning”, though we prefer the term low support needs. This may look like someone doing well from the outside, but it often takes a significant amount of effort to keep up. “High functioning” individuals may be independent in some areas while still needing support in others, or they may excel academically but feel overwhelmed with organization, emotional regulation, or daily routines.
